Rebranding Happy Friday in 2017

The time for change has come.  It’s been almost four years since Happy Friday sprouted and grew into an open form of communication surrounding positivity, empathy, and compassion.  What started as a way to improve my writing and stay positive as I struggled with relocating to California, Happy Friday morphed into a passionately charged cluster of words surrounding communication and social justice issues.

 

For those that know me well, I have been kicking around the idea of dropping this four-year endeavor altogether.  Yet as I tirelessly tossed around that thought, I just couldn’t let it go.  Initially, Happy Friday thrived since the majority of the content revolved around personal happiness.  For two years, Happy Friday was a once a week ordeal.  Then I ran out of content, so I transitioned to bi-weekly emails that focused on social justice issues.  175,000 words later, here we are.

2016 was a year consisting of political turmoil and unrest of citizens across the country. 2017 has been better, but I say that cautiously.  Because of all this, I believe that conscious communication is more important than ever.

 

So this is where the branding begins.  Happy Friday, which branded itself on happiness, now keeps that idea but adds an emphasis on communication.   I make a living teaching young adults how to effectively communicate with themselves and, most importantly, with one another. Toss in a heavy dose of social justice and voila- we now have the new and improved Happy Friday!

 

Instead of the biweekly emails, where there were weeks that I searched and reached for topics, I am going to change the approach in hopes of keeping you, the audience, interested and most of all, engaged.  Therefore, there will only be one email per month, but HappyFridayEveryDay.com will be producing other mediums of communication- specifically books of poetry, videography, and photography all centered on conscious communication.

 

I like the people that read this blog.  I believe we have the power to positively change our communities. After all, conscious and compassionate communication creates change.  That's the new slogan for Happy Friday.

 

Now let’s go change the world.
